The Melbourne Stars opener produced one of the best innings in Big Bash League history, with the all-rounder punishing the Sydney Sixers bowling attack to all parts of the MCG on Sunday in a 44-run win.

Batting first, the Stars burst out of the blocks with Hilton Cartwright and Stoinis sending the bad ball to the boundary, as their wicketless first 10 overs gave the team momentum heading into the second-half of their innings.

From there, it was all one way traffic as balls departed over the fence with Stoinis ending the innings 147 not out, hitting 13 fours and eight sixes in his masterclass.

The Stars broke multiple records on their way to the franchise’s highest score, including a record opening partnership worth 207.
